Figueroa Cut From Mets

Former Lion Nelson Figueroa has not been named to the Mets 25-man roster and is now a free agent. The 35-year old right-hander was one of the few players to play in the majors after spending time in Taiwan.

Figueroa was named Taiwan Series MVP in 2007, winning all three games that he started.

Other players who have gone on to the bigs from over here include Melvin Mora (Mercury Tigers-New York Mets), Ben Weber (Sampo Suns-Anaheim Angels), Joe Strong (China Times Eagles-Florida Marlins), and current player Ni Fu-Te (China Trust Whales-Detroit Tigers) .

If you're aware of any others, please let me know.
